HOMILY OF SATURDAY WK 1 OF ADVENT YR B (05/12/2020)

THEME: GOD NEVER GIVES UP ON US
The prophet Isaiah assures the people of Israel that the adversities and afflictions they are passing through are not signs that God has given up on them, but only a way of bringing them to the consciousness that they cannot do without him. He assures them that God has not given up on them, and that if they return Him and remain with him, he will wipe their tears and make them prosper in the Land.

God’s compassion for us is so enormous that it moves him to carry our troubles all by himself (cf. Mt. 9:35 – 10:1). He will never abandon us. But in order to benefit from that, we must wait for him. Waiting for him means repenting of our sins and trusting in Him. As you wait for the Lord, may he dry your tears and take care of your troubles so that your songs would be that of joy at the victory won through Christ our Lord. Amen!

Good morning and Happy Weekend!
