HOMILY OF TUESDAY WK 1 OF ADVENT YR B (01/12/2020)

THEME: FROM A HOPELESS SITUATION
On this first day of the month if December, the prophet Isaiah has a message of hope and assurance for us: “There shall come forth a shoot from the stock of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of his roots” (Isa 11:1). A stock is the last part of the tree that is left on the ground when the main tree has been cut down. Normally, it is expected that it should die off but a shoot rather grows from it.

The message here is clear and resounding for each one of us. From any seemingly hopeless situation we may find ourselves, God can lift you up and make us stand out as a sign of his love and glory to the nations (cf Isa 11:10). On our part we must dispose ourselves for that by upholding justice in our little way and living in peace with others, and it shall be well with us.

NEW MONTH PRAYER: I hand you over to the care of the all merciful God, to guide, guard and direct your affairs in this month of December and beyond. Amen!

HAPPY NEW MONTH AND GOD’S CHOICEST BENEDICTIONS!
