THEME: GOD’S WORD MUST SURELY COME TO PASS
Today, Jesus’ discourse on the last things: death, judgement, heaven and he’ll with an emphatic statement: Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
The foregoing statement is one with myriads of implications. It’s a statement that assures us that nothing can thwart God’s plans, God’s promises, God’s purpose for his children. His promises to his children must surely and certainly be realised. And what are his promises?
Jeremiah 29:11-12 clearly spells out God’s plans and purposes for his children: I know the plans I have for you, plans of peace and not of afflictions. To give you a future hope. Then when you call I shall answer you, when you seek you’ll find me. These are the thoughts of God that must surely and certainly be fulfilled in our lives. Though it may take time, though we may encounter obstacles on the way, though difficulties may abound, though evil plots may be construed against us, though evil men may conspire against us. What God has installed for us who trust in him must surely come to pass.
Hence, worry not about what people say nor what happens around you or what they plan against you. The Lord has promised and he will never fail. May God’s promises and words be actualized in your life through Christ our Lord. Amen!
Good morning and happy weekend!
