HOMILY OF WEDNESDAY WK 34 OF ORDINARY TIME YR II (25/11/2020)

THEME: ENDURANCE
Today, Jesus ends his exposition of the challenges to come with this encouraging words: Your endurance will win you reward. In such a situation, the first question we can ask ourselves is: What is endurance?

Endurance is related to the ability of one to go through wear and tear and still complete the task at hand. It may be strength endurance in a natural or spiritual sense, endurance to overcome challenges, or endurance to push through and come out victorious. If we can fight through our issues no matter how hopeless they may look, we can change the world in ways we could never imagine.

People do not lack strength; they lack will.” “Most people never run far enough on their first wind to find out they’ve got a second.” “In the wild struggle for existence, we want to have something that endures. To gain something that endures, we must be ready to bear the taunts of the moment, and face our challenges head-on. This is what the Psalmist sums up: For though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil (cf. Psalm 23)

Success in all spheres of life demands endurance. In Business, in education, in vocation, in marriage, in farming, in Marriage, endurance is the price we often pay to get to the pinnacle of success.

GOOD MORNING AND GOD BLESS!
