THEME: NEVER WASTE GOD’S GRACE AND MERCY
Grace as I often say like mercy is a free gift of God. It’s not given because one merits it but because of the goodness of the giver. Nobody merits grace. It’s a gratuitous gift. The grace of God St. Paul tells us today is responsible for all his achievements, exploits and successes. I am what I am by his grace said St. Paul. He also added, his grace towards me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God which is with me. St. Paul didn’t waste the grace of God.
So too, the woman in the Gospel text. She was a terrible woman. Adulterous, flirtatious and irresponsible. But after grace found her, she didn’t waste the mercy of God. She responded positively to this grace like St. Paul by offering her life in charitable service. And today, Jesus praises her for her kind gestures .
Never you underestimate the power of grace. When grace is involved, protocols are suspended and the least can become the greatest.
When one is rescued by grace, one needs to work harder to be saved. You cannot waste the grace and mercy of God. Yes, through your Father’s friend you gained admission into school, you need to study hard to pass Exams. You have gotten a job through your mother’s friend, to keep the job you must work hard. God has blessed you with a family, to maintain the family, you must work hard. Even politicians who got into office through connections, need to keep paying allegiance both in cash and kind. Always remember that, by strength shall no man prevail, it’s only by God’s grace. And his grace is always sufficient. Never waste the grace of God! You have been forgiven, Jesus adds a command: GO AND SIN NO MORE. You must turn a new live and work for Jesus.
PRAYER: Help us, Lord, never to waste you grace and mercy. Amen!
GOOD MORNING AND GOD BLESS YOU!
